Save Our Stages Fest announces full lineup including Miley Cyrus, The Roots & more

The Save Our Stages Festival is coming.

The three-day virtual event aims to help save indie rock venues that are struggling right now, and it will feature sets from Macklemore, Foo Fighters, G-Eazy, Jason Mraz, Phoebe Bridgers, The Roots, Little Big Town, Dave Matthews, Reba McEntire, The Lumineers, Brittany Howard and many, many more.

It is quite the star-studded event.

But perhaps even cooler: Each artist will perform from an indie music venue, highlighting just the places that the Save Our Stages movement is trying to bring attention to such as the Troubadour, the Ryman Auditorium, First Avenue and others.

Save Our Stages is an effort by the National Independent Venue Alliance to get federal funding to help keep small, independent music venues (the ones we all know and love) for folding. COVID-19 has more or less shut down most of those venues (as well as almost all tours), and many are in danger of having to close their doors for good.

The three-day event kicks off Friday at 7 p.m. Central, and it resumes at 3 p.m. Saturday and then 4 p.m. Sunday.

In all, the event will feature performances from 35 artists at 25 venues. The event will stream on the National Independent Venue Alliance YouTube page, and viewers will be encouraged to donate to NIVA’s relief fund during the broadcast.
